Dungeness Crab
Dungeness crab season typically runs from mid-November to July, with the catch slowing down in late winter. Some say that Dungeness crab is a little saltier than blue crab, which is generally considered sweeter.
Dungeness crab is sweet and delicate and can be eaten hot or cold. You can buy live crabs to prepare yourself or have them boiled for you. Dip crab meat in hot butter as a main dish or create a delicious crab meat dip for crackers or pita chips.
If serving as an entree, a typical serving of Dungeness Crab is 1 pound per adult at a price of $25 per pound. To purchase fresh Dungeness Crab, you can call in your order at a local store and they will clean and cook the crab for you. We usually call the seafood department at QFC at 990 E. Washington Street, Sequim, WA 98382 or go into the store and speak with their seafood department personnel.
